Our historic region is moving forward.

What was once primarily a military town has evolved into a diverse employer base. Sophisticated manufacturing operations, bioscience operations and technology companies. Key employers such as Blackbaud, BenefitFocus and Robert Bosch have helped attract top talent and fuel new start-up companies.

As our population continues to grow, so does the need for accounting professionals, physicians, attorneys, and other professional services.

Charleston's regional employment grew 13.5% between 1999 and 2004, far outpacing the national average of 4.3%. New and expanding companies have invested over $5-billion in the region in that same time period.
